My First TV Appearance and the Life Lessons It Taught Me!
From Small Steps to Big Stages + Life Lately!
Hey friend,
Let me tell you about something surreal that happened last week. I made my very first virtual TV appearance! Can you imagine? Me? Behind the studio? No lights were shining bright, (except for my ring light) or cameras rolling but still, can you believe that my parents would put on the DSTV that I grew up watching and see their first daughter? Omo! It was one of those "Na me be this?" moments.
But beyond the excitement, God used it to teach me some deep lessons. These lessons didn’t just come from this very moment—they’ve been brewing over the years, through every small step and leap of faith. Today, I want to share them with you because I know someone reading this needs a little nudge to keep pushing forward.
1. Life is a series of Epoch Moments
Big moments don’t just happen—they’re the result of consistency in the small things. I look back on my journey, and it’s clear to me that every book I read, every word I wrote, every course I took, and every prayer I whispered are all preparing me for moments like this.
You see, the big thing that you’re praying and working for often comes from the accumulation of the small things you’ve been doing faithfully. You’re not wasting your time when you’re investing in your growth or obeying God’s instructions, even when nobody is clapping for you. Trust me, You are not!
This point just reminded me of this Bible scholar, Wes Huff who went viral recently. My guy was just in one corner of Canada doing his PhD, loving the Lord, and doing his work as an Avenger of the gospel aka Apologetics. Then one ordinary day, he was called to debate Billy Carson, a self-proclaimed expert on ancient text who doesn’t like Jesus and his followers.
Wes Huff is a historian and a Christian apologist so he literally obliterated Billy Carson in this debate. It was so bad that Billy started suing him to have the video removed from the public. The whole debacle went viral and skyrocketed Wes's career, so much so that it landed him an interview with Joe Rogan (The most popular podcast in the world).
What is the moral of the story? - Be steadfast, consistent, and faithful in the little you’ve been called to do. God is using this season to train you, to prepare and mold you for the next.
👉 To ponder: What is one thing God has called you to do this year that requires your consistency? Start there and see how it snowballs into something amazing!
Let me just say it straight: writing a book is not a small thing o. The moment you become an author, you step into a space of influence. Whether it’s one person or one million people reading your book, your words carry weight. You may not feel like Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie or J.K. Rowling (not yet), but your voice matters.
During my TV interview, it really struck me again that—this wasn’t just about me. It was about the kingdom, fulfilling a divine calling, and stewarding the message God has entrusted to me. Let me tell you something you may not hear often - influence is critical in the Kingdom of God. Every story, every book, every article written by someone called by God is a seed planted for the advancement of His purpose.
Influence is how the Gospel spreads—it’s how we shine the light of God’s truth in a world that desperately needs it. Through the written word, we have the opportunity to impact hearts, challenge mindsets, shine the light, and draw people closer to the heart of God.
If God has called you to write, abeg, don’t hold back in 2025. Your words are a seed; you never know where they will take root.
👉 Question for you: Are you scared, prepared, or ready to embrace the influence that comes with authorship?
P.S. You can click on the link below to watch the interview. After watching, tell me what you think and if you are an O.G. in the public speaking space, please watch it and give me tips on how I can improve and prepare for the next ones! Abeg! 2025 is the year of Unprecedented opportunity o!
3. Favor Opens Doors Beyond Preparation
If there’s one thing I learned last week, it’s that favor will take you where your preparation cannot. No be by power or might o. Yes, you must be trained, schooled, and ready for the opportunity, but you see this thing called favor? It is the game changer. It opens the door to opportunities you didn’t even know existed. It’s what ensures your voice carries beyond what you said.
As I was thinking and praying for this interview, a scripture was highlighted to me that I am now “lambano-ing” with my full chest.
For indeed, the Lord had caused them to hear, in the camp of Syria, the sound of chariots and horses, and a very numerous army.
This scripture is saying to me that beyond my wisdom, knowledge, and eloquence, God can ride on the words that I speak to cause a man, woman, or people to hear what they need to hear based on the season and purpose of God. Omo! That is Favour! When you lean into God’s favor, you’ll see Him create room for you on platforms and in spaces you never thought possible. It’s not luck; it’s divine orchestration.
👉 My encouragement: As you prepare, don’t forget to ask God for His favor. That’s where the real transformation happens!

Abbott Elementary. I absolutely love THIS show! It’s about teachers so I can relate so well and the cast is hilarious. Plus it’s relatively clean and PG! You know that’s hard for Hollywood in 2025!

Favour by Lawrence Oyor. The way I love Lawrence Oyor now! The energy! The chants and the way they reinforce the consciousness of your divine realities! Gosh! Attending a service in his church/ministry is officially on my bucket list.

The Era of Emergence. Last week was the graduation ceremony of the VCAP class of 2024, the elite cohort(see pic), and this was the theme of the event. It was an ORDINATION and it was so beautiful... And my girls showed off. My beloved Coach T elegantly welcomed us into the Alumni community and Mrs Noch won a fabulous award. The babe is just a trailblazer and I love her!
