"That's my book! Ha! That's my book!"

My eyes were almost about to fall off their sockets from the shock. I repeatedly muttered “My book" as I stared at my phone in utter disbelief. Yes. That was my book on Amazon except that it wasn't my name on it.

It was one of the most shocking moments of my life in 2020. I've heard about these things before, but experiencing it was so surreal. It was on the 16th of August 2020. That fateful morning, I woke up with a strong burden for my book, the birthing. I knew I heard God. It was an explicit instruction with supernatural confirmations everywhere. A month before that day, God showed me clearly that this was what I should focus on but I wasn't just writing. The thing wasn't flowing out. I was also involved in many other activities that were great but not the season's focus.

As my burden intensified, I thought about what to do next. My mind quickly raced to a book writing coach and her Facebook group I joined some time ago. I decided to go check her out. As I scrolled through the posts in the group, I saw her congratulating some new authors who did physical book launches for their recently released books and that was when I saw the picture. I saw my first book idea sitting pretty right there. Same title, same concept, and same book cover, but my name was missing. I was in shock. The irony was that the author was another light-skinned Igbo girl like me. I wanted to cry but I immediately started to see what the Holy Spirit was teaching me. He led me to understand that I was not the only vessel available for the work. If I am not ready, the vision burning in my heart will find a willing and fast-moving visionary who will manifest it and there's nothing I can do about it.

Midwives: Heaven's undercover coaches

That experience was pretty much all the heat I needed to get to work. I had lost the first book idea I ever had, and I'm not about to see that happen again. At the time, the title I had for my book was "Motherhood, The Game Changer" (MTGC). If you've read the birthing, you'll know that was ended up becoming just a chapter in the book. Let me tell you the truth.

A midwife is a person (typically a woman) trained to assist women during pregnancy, labor, and birth. When it comes to the process of birthing children, we understand the purpose and need for a midwife but do you know that when it comes to birthing the vision, you also need a midwife? Ahh, my sister, you do. That's the reason why I stalled on an idea that had been in my heart since 2019 even though I had heard God. But God in his infinite love and mercy sent me a midwife in the person of Coach Laju Iren. (See picture above)

Paying that $500 was one of the hardest decisions I had to make but I thank God every day that I did. Obedience is the game changer. Obedience will bring you to people and places you've never been. Like my wise sister, Mrs. Noch said "Obedience gives you prominence." I mean look at me alongside my precious MMMs. What an honor. This is not even the best part because we have barely scratched the surface of this visionary journey.

Who is a midwife?A midwife is someone who has walked or is currently walking the path that God is calling you to. They are your coaches, mentors, and models trained by the Holy Spirit to help you in a birthing season. When I realized I needed help with the vision in my heart, I made up my mind to sign up for Coach Laju Iren's book coaching program.

It was a tough decision but after I did, the channels of my spirit opened up and things started to align. I now SAW the book I was actually writing. The titles, the subtitles, the people to interview, and so many other things started coming to me. We officially started working together in September 2020 and I submitted the completed draft, on January 1st, 2021. Something that I was carrying for over a year came out in four months because of a midwife. Let me tell you something. Coaching is God's undercover midwifery system. It is heaven's accelerator program for visionaries at this hour.

When you are in a birthing season - that season of restless agitations and pressed desires, It's your responsibility to push. You've gotta push that baby out and the good news is that as you push in the direction of destiny, heaven will pull for you. You don't have to do it alone or by yourself. You can leverage the skills and resources of a midwife trained to help you birth. More often than not, that person looks like a coach who has a coaching program or some resource that you can interact with today.

I know some of us have sniggered at the coaching industry and the fact that "everyone is now a coach" but sis, we need to be discerning enough to see what God is doing in the world. There are coaches and there are midwives. The onus is on you to be led by the Holy Spirit to find what is yours. It's not by popularity or social media following. Go to the father and ask him to open your eyes to see. We all need midwives to push us into our NEW Possibilities so what are you waiting for? Do it now!

Wisdom for your birthing season

If you discern that you are in a birthing season, don’t question it! Don’t allow others to question it. Matter of fact- it may be a season to limit access to you because when in the labor ward- only birthing doctors, midwives, and key personnel are granted access. The birthing season of your life is such a spiritual season so let the lord lead you. How you may ask?

• Ask questions.

• Show up.

• Meet people who inspire you.

• Enter those communities.

• Buy that book.

• Pay that coach.

• Take that bold step.

As I'm speaking to you now, I'm actually in another birthing season myself. My second son, Nate, ushered me into one but that's gist for another day. The funny thing is that you would think that since I've already gone through this process before, I should have it on lockdown right? I should be able to handle things myself now right? Haha! WRONG! I just paid for a mastermind yesterday that will help me push out my next in this season. Yes!! I'm not about to joke with my destiny because Jesus literally shed his blood for this. Yes!

He died so that I, Ugonne Ann Okonkwo, will live a rich, satisfying, visionary, purposeful, and abundant life on this side of eternity. He came so that I could live life to the fullest - Life that is so rich, so full, so good that I don't need a vacation from it.

This is how we build that life. We walk with the Lord and partner with him in every season of our lives. And regardless of what it would cost us, we would show up with courage and conviction. I'm not about to waste my Jesus' blood. I hope you won't too. Do what you gotta do to push that baby out.

As I said in the last newsletter, there's a dimension of you we will never uncover fully until you encounter your teachers, mentors, forerunners, midwives, coaches, and models. I want to give you another chance to say that prayer I made back in the day.

"Lord, open my eyes to where I can drink the faith I need for my purpose, dreams, and aspirations. Let me see the people/person that has preached the messages in line with your will & purpose for my life". Holy Spirit, lead me to my midwives. Show me the people you have trained to help me in this birthing season. Give me the grace to know no man according to the flesh. I see with my inner eyes and I hear with my inner ears in Jesus' name. Amen.
